Is it recommended to use valuation structure CostOrg,Serial (exclude Inventory Org) for Actual cost

We have a business requirement to define a custom valuation structure that includes Cost Organization and Serial, without adding Inventory Organization as part of the structure.
Before proceeding, we’d like to confirm if Oracle recommends or supports this setup for Actual Costing, and whether there are any known limitations, performance issues, or best-practice considerations.
