How to check if the second level manager not exist in resignation approval rule

in Human Capital Management

Summary:

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to check if the second level manager exist then we should send an FYI notification , if does not exist it should stop before that stage without any error.

Ex: Employee 'ABC' has the line manager 'XYZ' and XYZ does not have any manager, then FYI should go to XYZ only and stop.

If XYZ has line manager then ABC's FYI must go to XYZ's manager.

Could you please let me know how to check this function in resignation approval rule.
