Default customer profile class

Summary:

In our project, we have created a custom profile class. However, whenever we create a customer from the UI, the system always assigns the seeded Default Profile class. We have to manually change it to our custom profile class each time. Is there a way to set a specific profile class as the default? I tried deactivating all the seeded profile classes and leaving only the custom one active, but the system throws an error when creating a customer. Is there any workaround for this?
