Item Template Enable new item request

Summary:

We do not want to use the Enable new item request. I need to uncheck the box on 3000 Item Classes.

Is there a way to perform this action via a Mass Update ? I thought by doing (removing it) in the Root Item Class it would reflect in all Item Classes, but it looks like it is not cascading dow to all Item Classes.
