approval workflow not triggering for Promote transaction via rest api

Hello Team,

We have a requirement to trigger approval workflow when promote transaction is initiated via REST API just like when we do transaction via UI. Though approvals are setup, still the transaction is getting auto approved.

Please assist if this feasible via RESt API
