Deleting a dimension from Planning

Summary:

We have a customer dimension that hasn't been used in planning yet and now when we are trying to use it, we are finding issues with the original configuration. In short, we are finding it a pain to work with the customer dimension that was setup as an attribute text. It is making the subscription process not work as expected. We have a work around but just wondering if removing the dimension would be cleaner?

What would be the steps to removing the dimension (if possible) and what would be the downfalls?
