HR Helpdesk - Audit History ignores days of month

Summary:
When opening Audit History it always selects last month plus one day as "From Date". If last month has 31 days, it will result in an error message and one has to manually update the "From Date".
In addition, "To Date" is always set to today, which, for requests that have been edited more than 30 days ago, isn't user friendly.
Is there any configuration/profile that can be used to change this behaviour?
