Can approval rules configured in the User Interface coexist with BPM-defined rules for the same appr

I currently have some approval rules configured directly through the User Interface (Manage Internal Supplier Registration Approvals screen), but I’m also exploring the possibility of defining additional workflows through BPM (Business Process Management).

My question is:

  • Is it possible for both types of rules — those configured in the UI and those defined in BPM — to coexist within the same approval flow?
  • Or does Oracle only support one of these configurations (meaning you must choose between UI or BPM)?

I’d appreciate it if anyone could share how the coexistence of both options works, or if there is any official Oracle documentation that describes the recommended implementation approach.
