One Big Beautiful Bill (OB3) - Institutional Loan Limits
Provision Description:
The Institutional Loan Limits provision allows institutions to impose their own lower program-level loan limits for an academic year for student and parent borrowers.
Configuration Solution:
The Institutional Loan Limits provision can be handled completely with configuration with no additional code changes using the Award_Overriding_Criteria configuration within the FAS_FUND_CONFIG.csv. There you can set specific Institutional Loan Limits.
Using the attached configuration as an example, it limits Direct Unsubsidized Loans for a student to $10,000 for an academic year (the federal limit for a graduate student is $20,500).
