Best practices: filtering candidates on requisition by location?

Summary:

While viewing the list of applications on a requisition, we can filter by location, under Filters → Candidate Info → Location

However, the issue our recruiters are facing is- if there is a large number of applicants (100+) on the requisition and we want to narrow it down to the city and surrounding suburbs, if they are not familiar with the surrounding area of a posted job, they may miss applicants in that area.

Our locations are set up as city, state (or province), country
