Update New Position Error: The value of the attribute ActionReason isn't valid (PER-1531393)

Summary: In Redwood 25C/25D we are finding that when a Position is created, then as a new transaction the same Position is immediately Updated (i.e. at a later effective date) on Submit the following errors are thrown and the transaction is not submitted:

The value of the attribute ActionReason isn't valid.

The action reason is invalid. (PER-1531393)


Has anyone else experienced the same behaviour, does anyone have a workaround/solution?

In the below screenshot replicating the issue, the position was created effective 18-Nov-2025, then attempted to update Status from 30-Nov-2025, and the 2 error messages are thrown:
