How to Apply FEFO and FIFO both for the same org for various types of Items

For our project, we have the following requirement:
In the same Inventory Organization, we can have following types of items:
- Category 1: Some items will have expiry dates.
- Category 2: For other items, expiry dates may not be available.
» For Category 1 items, the FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) method should be applied.
» For Category 2 items, the FIFO (First In, First Out) method should be applied.
I would like to confirm whether the following picking rule setup effectively addresses this requirement. We tested it and observed that it worked in some cases, but I noticed unexpected behavior during one of the tests and want to double-check.
