Amend project plan for an existing project.

We have an existing project on the system, and its project plan contains task number 5.00.
This is supposed to be a parent task with several subtasks (5.01 and 5.02) under it. However, the sub-tasks were not created by mistake, and cost has been booked to task 5.00.
Now, I am unable to add subtasks to 5.00.



Could someone please recommend a work around for this.

PS: The expense report has been imported to AP as an invoice and has been paid.
