National Identifier - Updates as needed/Portal

Hello! We currently do not allow our employees to update their SSN but there are times when it may be incorrect upon hire and it needs to be updated so our HR admin update on behalf of our employees. Is there a way in Oracle where we could enhance this by allowing our employees to update on an as needed basis by request through a one time portal or something similar?
