Best practice for using PCM_REP vs PCM_CLC for reporting

Hello,

We are working with Oracle EPM – Profitability and Cost Management and would like to validate the recommended best practices regarding the use of the Calculation cube (PCM_CLC) versus the Reporting cube (PCM_REP).

Currently, several of our reports are built directly on the PCM_CLC cube, which is also used for:

  • Assignments
  • Drivers
  • Rules
  • Formulas

Some of these reports include formulas, and we have noticed that report execution time is high, especially when querying multiple dimensions or periods.

Our objective is to evaluate the best approach to leverage the PCM_REP cube in order to improve reporting performance. In this context, we would appreciate guidance on the following:
