Issue in rehire an employee

Summary:

Hello all,

We have setup a configuration in such a way that while Hiring an employee we have setup in such a way that NID is a mandatory step ,so that NID duplication is being checked and if an existing NID entered will give an error message which was working well as expected.

Now when we try to rehire an inactive/terminated employee, NID here also becomes mandatory and since that employee's data is already there in the system we are unable to Re hire that employee.

How can we overcome this hurdle while rehire? Suggestions are welcomed!
