New hire update hdl error

I am getting an Error -The start date for the person must be the same as the initial start date for the person in the enterprise.

The third employee has only one assignment, currently active but HDL failed with the error.

The start date for the person must be the same as the initial start date for the person in the enterprise.

The first 2 employees were succesful.I am not sure what this error means. We are trying to update the hire date and I am pre dating the hire date by few days.
