I’m trying to understand the purpose of Balance Explanation for Account Analysis when Group Reconciliation is already enabled.


If Group Detail already breaks down and explains the balance, then why do we additionally need a Balance Explanation? It seems logical when Group Detail is not enabled, but with Group Reconciliation active, the two appear to overlap.
Is the expectation that Balance Explanation will be sourced from somewhere other than the GL and then compared or matched against the Group Detail? Or is there another functional reason to maintain both?
