Journal level conversion- Can we post journals in Primary ledger when no mapping exist

We are going with Journal level conversion. we have mapping between Primary to Secondary ledger COA.
Do we have any option to post the journal in Primary ledger even if no mapping is available. and once mapping is done, can we transfer to secondary ledger ?
