General Ledger Document Sequencing not generating numbers upon Journal Save

Summary:

We are unable to configure the system to generate a sequence number at the time of Saving a manual journal entry. The business requirement is to have a Document Number assigned before the journal is posted to align with legacy audit processes.

Steps Taken:

  1. Accounting Sequences: We have confirmed that Accounting Sequences work, but they only trigger at the Posting or Period Close events, which does not meet our requirement.
  2. Document Sequence Definition: We have created a Document Sequence with the Type set to Automatic and Determinant Type set to Ledger.
  3. Assignment: We have assigned this sequence to the Manual Journal Category using the Manual Method for our Primary Ledger.
