Can Em Dash (long dash) be added to the invalid characters list for properties?

Summary:

We have a scenario where a property value contains an Em Dash, as opposed to a regular dash, and the Em Dash is not being recognized by a downstream system, which causes issues with how it is displayed in reporting. To avoid this again going forward, we ask if we can have the Em Dash (or long dash) added to the list of invalid characters for a property.
