We have observed that the Overriding Approver feature can replace the original approver when both approvers have the same approval limit. However, it appears that the Overriding Approver cannot replace the original approver if the approval amount exceeds the Overriding Approver’s approval limit.

 For example:
A user submits a PR for HK$6M under general purchase. Based on the A-matrix, the system requires final approval from an ED level. When the user selects a GM as the Overriding Approver, the expectation is that the GM would replace the ED as the final approver. However, the system still routes the approval to the ED.
