grid designer export on narrative reporting

Summary:

there were several suggestions on Google as to how to export the grid design that will list members without the values. it's telling me to go to File > Export Design to Excel but my version of NR doesn't have File menu. and other option was to Download as Excel Ad Hoc but this only gave few rows of the gridand not the all the rows. the User needs to know what makes up one of the line in the report and doesn't have access to the design view. what can we do to achive this request?
