logo request - variable added for use in correspondence

Can anyone tell me if there is a certain file type (.gif, .tiff, etc) that is needed to reqeust a logo be built as a variable in Correspondence Manager? I know I need to put in a request to support, but thought i'd ask ahead of time and maybe save some wait time and/or footwork. Thanks.
