Using public key auth in copyFromSFTP RestAPI

We are trying to use copyFromSFTP API to copy large files from our SFTP server in AWS to our Account Reconciliation application

The documentation suggests that we need to use the username and password for auth, but AWS Transfer Family only supports public ssh key bases auth. Is there a way for us to call the copyFromSFTP API with public ssh key auth credentials ?
