Prune Time for Hourly BICC Extracts

We have BICC Extracts running hourly and prune time set to 60. But the downstream applications have issues with the number of duplicates generated in every run. Is it better to keep the prune time to 5 Mins instead of 0. Will it be of any help in addressing the integrity in data issues.
