Clarification on IPM Advanced Predictions Architecture and OCI Data Science Integration

Hi all,

I’m looking for clarification on how IPM Advanced Predictions in Oracle EPM Cloud integrates with OCI Data Science.

Oracle documentation mentions that the feature is “backed by OCI Data Science”, but the deployment model isn’t fully clear. Could someone help clarify the following:

  1. Does this mean an OCI Data Science service is embedded/managed within the EPM Cloud environment?
  2. Or does EPM Cloud call out to a separate OCI Data Science service through an Oracle‑managed mechanism?
  3. If external calls are involved, how is security handled—specifically around data transfer, encryption, tenancy isolation, and access boundaries?
