System Behaviour Based on Skill Status (Self-Assessed vs Validated) in Grow and Gap Analysis

edited 3:06PM in Grow

Hello,

we are currently analyzing the behavior of Oracle Dynamic Skills in relation to the status of a skill (for example: self-assessed, manager validated, endorsed) and its impact on downstream modules.

Specifically, we would like clarification on the following points:

  1. Does the system treat self-assessed skills differently from validated skills when generating:
    • Skill gaps in Talent Profile?
    • Career recommendations in Grow?
    • Learning recommendations?
    • Role match / mobility suggestions?
  2. Is there any documented logic that explains how the skill status influences:
    • Gap calculation?
    • Recommendation prioritization?
    • Messaging shown in Grow?
  3. Is the current behaviour expected to change according to the product roadmap?

We reviewed the technical data model (tables such as WLF_TALENT_PROFILE_GAPS and HRT_SKILLS_ASSIGNMENTS), which suggests that the system differentiates skill context and status at database level. However, we couldn't find official documentation explaining the algorithmic behaviour in relation to skill validation state.

Howdy, Stranger!
