Object‑Level Validation for Redwood Pages

Summary:

We have a requirement to implement a validation rule that should be enforced consistently when data is entered either through the UI (Redwood pages) or via HSDL/HDL loads.

In earlier releases, Autocomplete Rules supported object‑level validation, allowing the same validation logic to be applied across UI and bulk data loads. However, with the shift to Visual Builder Studio (VBS) Business Rules, validations are currently limited to UI‑level only, and therefore do not trigger during mass data loads through HSDL/HDL.

Is there an alternative approach available today to achieve object‑level validation that applies uniformly across UI and loader-based transactions? Additionally, are there any planned enhancements or roadmap items to reintroduce or extend object‑level validation capabilities in the Redwood/VBS framework?

Howdy, Stranger!
