E-mail Aliasing/Sub-Addressing during Supplier Registration

Summary:

When my client registers a supplier using an e-mail alias/sub-address (i.e. First.Last+001@domain.com/ First.Last+002@domain.com), it states that the e-mail address has already been used and cannot be used again.

E-mail aliasing/sub-addressing worked prior to the move to Redwood. It is also working in the dev/test environments but not working in Production for some reason.

Has anyone else has encountered this scenario and how did you resolve/work around it?
