Can i create new fresh main branch

Summary:

Even i wanted to check how our main branch is holding data , whether its environment specific or for our entire project same data . If i publish few changes in dev1 and few other in dev2 , will my main branch holding all the dev1 and dev2 changes.

Can we create new main branch to avoid these conflict issues.

Can anyone help on this case.
