Clarification on Future Support for External Data Sources in BI Publisher for SaaS to OICIntegration

Dear Oracle Community,

We have a requirement to utilize the external data source configuration feature in Oracle Fusion Applications BI Publisher to establish connectivity between our SaaS applications and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) services (Invoke OIC integration from ESS job using from Oracle Fusion). This functionality has been instrumental in enabling us to invoke SOAP web services hosted in OIC from our SaaS environment.

However, we have come across Oracle Support Document ID 2009782.1, which states that "External data sources are not supported" and indicates that this feature will be deprecated in future releases.

Given the critical nature of this integration capability for our business processes, we would like to understand:
