Creating Asset - Estimated Costs

Hi,

I have a question on using Estimated costs when creating an asset.

We are using estimates for multiple assets in a project. All assets are assigned to the Project and not any individual Tasks.

Example.

• Asset A – 50
• Asset B – 50
• Asset C – 100

I thought the total cost of the project would be pro-rated based on the % of each Asset. Total project cost is $200; Asset A is 50, Asset B is 50 and Asset C is 100. If the total project cost is higher/lower the amounts would be adjusted.

This was done and then we ran Generate Asset Lines. The status is Pending but all transactions are ‘Assets without Assignments’. We have to go in manually and split each transaction between the Assets.
