Best practice for Using TIN and National Identifier section for Contacts

in Human Capital Management

Hi,

Need a little clarity on TIN and National Identifier section usage in family and emergency contact information page.
Before redwood, we used to enter contact information through person management and the SSN information of contacts were added in TIN.

But after redwood, a new section "National Identifier" was enabled in Family and Emergency Contact page and now we can add SSN of dependent/contacts in two sections. One in Relationship section and 2nd in National Identifier section on same page.



I just want to confirm what is best practice to add dependent SSN number? Should we use TIN Type in relationship section of the page or should we use the National Identifier section? If we start using National Identifier section to add SSN information, what will be the impact on old employees contacts/dependent information where we added SSN information in TIN under relationship section?
