Oracle Fusion PPM SLA - Asset CIP Cost Account Derivation by Formula or Source

Summary:

Our client is currently transitioning from Oracle EBS Project Accounting (PA) to Oracle Fusion ERP PPM.
In Oracle EBS PPM, at the Project Task level, users enter the FA Category value (e.g., INFS.MISA.MSCA.NA.NA) into a custom DFF field. When Misc. Cost is entered, the expectation is that the system automatically derives the corresponding CIP account for the debit side of the accounting entry. This is achieved in EBS through Auto Accounting setup, where a custom SQL query dynamically fetches the CIP account.

To replicate this in Oracle Fusion PPM, I created an FA Category–to–CIP Account mapping set with the source defined as the Task Descriptive Flexfield attribute. This mapping set was then linked to the account rule, JERS, and accounting method. Testing confirmed that the debit side correctly retrieves the CIP account value.
