Approval in HR by using defined table

I am planning to define a custom user table that stores Department along with Employee ID or Employee Name. During the approval configuration, I would like to use this table to dynamically identify the appropriate employee for a given department and route the approval workflow accordingly.

Could you please confirm whether this approach is supported in Oracle HCM Cloud approval configurations ? Specifically:

• Can approval rules directly reference or query a custom table for deriving approvers?
• If not, what is the recommended approach to achieve department-based dynamic approval routing?
