I want to open multiple instances of Smart View / Excel so I don't tie up my computer.

The user is currently trying to zoom in on their Smart View worksheet and they are unable to use Excel until the zoom completes. Is it possible to have more than one instance open and also can they work freely in the one instance while the zoom completes in the other instance?
