Can we restrict the user to edit Custom Method (Amortization/Accretion) schedule for prior months?

In Oracle EPM Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS), why is a Preparer permitted to edit the Custom Method (Amortization/Accretion) schedule for prior months within the current open period, even though those prior periods have already been closed/locked? Additionally, is there a system‑supported mechanism to restrict Preparers from modifying historical months within the Custom Method schedule during the current period?

Example:

I’ve created a schedule Amortization/Accretion with Method as ‘Custom’ for the month of March-25 and submitted for Review.

While I am able to view the expected schedule for the April 2025 period, I also have the ability to modify the March 2025 accretion schedule even the period is open or closed or Locked. Is it possible to restrict editing the Scheduled amounts for prior periods? Please advise.
