Candidate profile disappeared

Summary:

Has anyone ever experienced a candidate profile disappearing? We have a situation wherein we had application and wanted to update their Phase and State, but the application and candidate were no longer there. We called the candidate and they had not touched the record since applying and they were not inadvertently deleted on our side so we can't explain why this candidate is suddenly missing.

Since it's gone, there is nothing to troubleshoot. We are concerned that there may be others as finding this one was pure luck.
