How to achieve Customer Requeted Delivery Date in Production Scheduling ?
Summary:
Orders should not be scheduled too far in advance of customerrequested delivery date
e.g. if date if 4 weeks away and production takes less than a week schedule in 3weeks time
Spread of customer requested date
less than 1 week from order - 40%
between 1 and 2 weeks from order - 30%
3 or more weeks from order - 20%
no requested delivery date - 10%
Where the customer doesn't request a specific date the CustomerService team enter a date far into the future
