Prevent overwrite of Person Identifier for External Applications per Work Relationship

Hello,

we are using Person Identifiers for External Applications in Oracle HCM, and we are facing an issue with identifier overwriting.

Our requirement is to assign a different identifier for each work relationship of the same person. For example:

  • First employment: identifier = 1234
  • After termination and rehire: identifier = 5678

We need to keep the historical value (1234) linked to the previous work relationship, without it being overwritten when inserting a new identifier.

However, the current behavior seems to overwrite the existing identifier at the person level.

Is there a way to:

  • store multiple identifiers per person without overwriting?
  • or associate the identifier with the
