Oracle WMS – Auto Suggest Packing Type / OBLPN Type Based on Cubing and VAS Requirements
Hi Team,
We have a requirement in Oracle WMS/OMS to automate packing type selection during the fulfillment process.
Scenario:
- We are using multiple packing types, including:
- Shrink wrap
- Bubble wrap
- Gift box
- Different box sizes
- These packing configurations are already defined in OBLPN Types.
- We also have VAS (Value Added Services) with additional charges linked to some packing requirements.
Requirement:
We want Oracle WMS to automatically suggest the correct packing type/OBLPN Type based on:
- Cubing and dimensions
- Order quantity
- Item characteristics
- VAS selected in the order
- Required box size or special wrapping requirement
For example, if the order requires gift wrapping or bubble wrap, the system should automatically suggest the related OBLPN Type during packing.
