Unable to Modify Requisition After PO Cancellation with Budgetary Control Enabled

The scenario is the following:
- A Requisition was created and approved.
- After that, a Purchase Order was created from the Requisition and approved as well.
- Later, a business need arose to make changes to the original Requisition.
- Therefore, the Purchase Order was cancelled.
Could you please clarify whether it is possible to modify the Requisition in this scenario when Budgetary Control is enabled?
At the moment, it appears that the only available option is to create a completely new Requisition.
