Timecard Required Flag Best Practice – US Payroll (Oracle Cloud)

Hi All,

We are currently reviewing our configuration of the “Timecard Required” flag in Oracle Cloud Payroll (US LDG) and would like to understand how others are handling this across different worker classifications.

Context

From both an FLSA compliance and payroll processing perspective, we are evaluating the appropriate setup for:

  • Exempt employees
  • Hourly Nonexempt employees
  • Salaried Nonexempt employees

Current Design

Exempt Employees

  • Timecard Required = No
  • No timecards maintained

Hourly Nonexempt Employees

  • Timecard Required = Yes
  • Time entries are required for compliance and payroll processing

Salaried Nonexempt Employees
