Update costing on element that has element entries with begin dates in the past but no end dates

in Payroll and Global Payroll Interface (GPI)

Hello,
Payroll team wishes to update the costing on an element. The element has many element entries, many of which have start dates in the past with no end-dates, and they have been processed in the past.
Without any changes, payroll gets this error when trying to update element costing:

  • The element eligibility record can't be deleted because it would invalidate existing element entries with effective start dates in the future. (PAY-1635756). To delete the eligibility record, you need to delete all entries with a start date after the current effective date and try again.

I believe we need to end-date all current element entries to allow the element costing to be updated. I am trying to use this HDL:
