What is the relevance of the 'Importance' field in the Skills section of the job profile?

Summary:

We're using Enhanced Dynamic Skills and are working on adding Skills to Job Profiles. As part of the Skill content item on the Job Profile, I can see that there is a field called 'Importance' which is mandatory for adding skills on these Job Profiles (EnhancedTalentProfile.dat). Can anyone help with what exactly does this field do? Is it more relevant for Oracle Grow?
