Changes to custom report, replicates in seeded report

Hi all,

I have encountered a problem while customising reports.

-When I create a copy of a custom report ("customise it" using XMLP server) then the seeded object disappears.
-I raised an SR with Oracle but they are stating it is expected behaviour, when we haven't encountered this happening before

Has anyone else experienced this before? What does everyone do if you want to refer to the original/seeded object as we're not able to see it anymore after this issue occurs?
