Absence Start Date Validation Error on Nonworking Day – Childbirth or Placement Pattern

We configured a paternity leave absence type using the Childbirth or Placement pattern (UOM: Calendar Days, ). When employees submit an absence request with a start date that falls on a nonworking day (e.g., Saturday), the following error is displayed:

"You must enter an absence start date that is a scheduled work day."

No error occurs when a weekday is selected as the start date.

Issue:
Since paternity leave is triggered by an actual childbirth event, the birth date can fall on any day of the week. Employees cannot control the birth date, yet the system blocks the absence entry when it falls on a nonworking day.
