Convert to Federated Users

Summary:

we have users setup to allow both user name-password and single sign-on. We want to convert these users to federated with no user name-password login. As per the document, Managing User Credentials for SSO-Enabled Cloud EPM Environments it is recommending to delete and recreate users. is there a workaround without deleting the users?

I would like to know, if this workaround will work.

1. Slide the Federated in the User Management for the User
2. Create a new group Federated Users and assign the users to this group,
3. update the Sign-on Policy for the users in this group to only sign in with Single Sign-on.
