Custom Product-Category Mapping Configuration

Introduction

Oracle Fusion Service maintains Products and Categories as independent master data. Although both are associated with a Business Unit (BU), there is no standard capability to map categories to specific products. Consequently, all active BU categories are available for selection regardless of the chosen product, requiring users to manually select the appropriate category. To address this gap, a custom product-category mapping customisation is proposed.  The  proposed solution introduces a custom mapping object that stores valid Product–Category relationships.Whenever the Product changes, an extension retrieves the mapped categories and refreshes a category virtual field.
